Feeling Yellow

"Where are we, MacKenzie?" Little seven-year-old Charlotte asked.
"At a flower garden," I replied with a smile.
"What's it look like?" Charlotte asked sweetly, her eyes blank and staring in my general direction.
"Well," I started. "Flowers are…gentle and beautiful. Here, feel the petals." I said, and placed her hand on one. "Aren't they soft?" She rubbed her fingers across the smooth petal surface. I picked a small sunflower from nearby and held it to Charlotte's face.
"It tickles!" Charlotte giggled. "What does this one look like?"
"It's called a sunflower," I told her. "It's yellow. Yellow is the color of warmth and happiness. When I smile, I think of the color yellow."
"What about the rest of the flowers? What do they look like?"
Smiling, feeling the color yellow, I told her the rest of the colors. Pink was comforting and soft. Blue was cool and water. Red was a hard one to describe. I told Charlotte that red was firey, uncontrollable, and loud. Purple and orange reminded me of sunsets, I told Charlotte. The colors mix together; a warm color and a cold color, as I told her. Orange was between red and yellow, and purple was mix between blue and red.
After I finished explaining to Charlotte, I looked back at her. She had a wide smile on her face. "MacKenzie," She started, staring blankly ahead. "I feel yellow."
